Establishing Capable Measurement Systems for Manufacturing Processes
8/24/2021 11:20 - 11:50
The validation of measurement systems in manufacturing processes is sometimes overlooked or applied incorrectly. However, measurement system validation can have a significant impact on product quality and the bottom-line of your business.
A capable measurement system gives us the ability to “see” the part-to-part variation stemming from the manufacturing process, which provides the basis for solid decision-making. This presentation will discuss some practical advice in setting-up, facilitating, analyzing, interpreting and improving the results of a measurement systems analysis validation effort. In addition, we will discuss some of the pitfalls that can occur.
This presentation will provide an overview of the validation of continuous measurement systems (weight, thickness, temperature, etc.) as well as attribute assessments (scratch, dent, void, discoloration, etc.) in manufactured products and the benefits associated with each.
